PVBS is excited to announce that we are an inaugural member of the Microsoft Microsoft GovCon Alliance which was announced today by Microsoft. The GovCon Alliance will bring together a cross-section of Microsoft partners with deep experience and understanding of the needs of government contractors. A large part of the announcement reflects how PVBS and other leading Microsoft partners will accelerate the growth of Microsoft Dynamics in this marketplace.
PVBS has been serving the government contractor market exclusively since our founding well over a decade ago. Our flagship solution, Microsoft Dynamics NAV for Government Contractors, is being used by hundreds of government contractors around the world today. We recently announced our Microsoft Dynamics AX for Government Contractor solution which features Government-compliant project accounting functionality and workflow needed by large companies that do business with the Federal Government. Elliott Ichimura, Microsoft’s Global Industry Director, Service Industries, said that Microsoft launched the program to show the company’s support for “complex government contracting enterprises (that) need multi-industry and multi-entity capabilities across both private and public sector business operations.” Read Elliot’s complete blog announcing the Alliance on the Microsoft Dynamics Community site.
Said Ichimura, “While Microsoft Dynamics AX has already helped large enterprises simplify administration, improve visibility into operations, and enable more agile responses to changing business conditions, industry-aligned solutions are needed to address the unique blend of requirements established by FAR, DFARS, CAS, DCAA and DCMA.”
Microsoft has always relied on its massive network of software development (ISV) and reselling partners to give its customers deeper solutions. Ichimura said that Microsoft has identified a select group of its partners to participate in the GovCon Alliance roll out, including PVBS. [NOTE: PVBS has offered a DCAA-compliant solution based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV to government contractors since 2002.]
Ichimura said that the Alliance is comprised of partners who have built key capabilities to support cost plus project accounting and other fundamental government contractor requirements within Microsoft Dynamics AX. These partners have domain expertise in the following areas:
- Pure hours-based professional services (e.g., management consulting and IT services)
- Hours and materials-oriented structural design, building and maintenance services (such as architecture/engineering/construction or AEC value chain)
- High-tech or discrete manufacturing.
“These capabilities offer our customers a ‘better fit’ solution on Microsoft Dynamics AX than we could deliver directly with a one-size-fits-all approach,” said Ichimura.
